Two more gymnasts clinch spots for 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup


Update: Brynn Torrey will not compete due to injury. She will be replaced by Jocelyn Sasson.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., February 14, 2022 – Two more gymnasts locked up their spots to compete at 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup over the weekend. With one week remaining in the annual qualification series, which determines the field’s composition, 36 of 40 spots have been claimed. In all, 20 junior and 20 senior USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Program Level 10 athletes will participate in the national competition Friday, February 25 at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.

Last week’s qualifiers are listed alphabetically below.

  • WOGA Classic, Frisco, Texas: Mackenzie Estep, Auburn, Wash./Ascend Gymnastics (senior); Brynn Torrey, Yorktown, Va./World Class (junior)

The final four gymnasts will be decided this weekend at Elevate the Stage in Toledo, Ohio, and the Magical Classic in Orlando, Fla.

The Nastia Liukin Cup was founded in 2010 by 14-time Olympic and World medalist Nastia Liukin. This year’s competition is being held in conjunction with the 2022 Winter Cup Presented by OZONE and TURN and Elite Team Cup Presented by TURN.
