Q: When and why did you first become interested in gymnastics?
A: I started out in cheerleading, but I had a friend who did gymnastics, so I started doing gymnastics and I loved it.
Q: Do you have any good/funny memories from when you first started taking gymnastics classes?
A: I was competing Level 6, and I started on the wrong side of the beam. The dismount mat was on the other side of the beam and I had to tell my coach to the move the mat during my routine.
Q: When did you decide you wanted to compete? And, when did you want to compete at a high level? What about competition appeals to you?
A: I always knew that I wanted to compete at high level because I think it’s fun. I love going out there and showing people what I can do.
Q: What is your training regimen?
A: I train 36 hours a week.
Q: What is your favorite event?
A: My favorite is floor because you can show off your dance skills too.
Q: What is your favorite skill?
A: I like doing a Jaeger on bars. It’s a new skill, and I feel really cool doing that release move.
Q: Who is your favorite gymnast or who is your “idol”?
A: My favorite gymnast is Nastia Liukin. She is such an inspiration and it means everything to be competing at this event named after her.
Q: How have you grown as a gymnast during your career, both skill wise and mentally?
A: I think I’ve grown a lot because I have to be mentally and physically strong to perform difficult skills.
Q: What are your biggest accomplishments or best memories in your career?
A: I am most proud of qualifying to the Nastia Cup.
Q: What are your favorite subjects, etc.?
A: I like biology and I would love to go into the medical field.
Q: If you plan to go to college, do you know what you want to study there?
A: I would like to be a veterinarian or a doctor.
Q: When you’re not in the gym, how do you enjoy spending your time? Do you have any hobbies or favorite activities? Charities?
A: I like to do my nails because I can do all these different designs. I also love to watch Grey’s Anatomy and Law & Order on Netflix.

A: Maroon 5
Q: Are any of your family members current or former athletes? Which sports?
A: I have an older brother who does motocross.
Q: What’s on your iPod right now? What type of music do enjoy listening to? How about before a meet when you’re trying to get focused and pumped up?
A: I always listen to pop music before a meet.
Q: If you had to pick 3 words to describe yourself as a gymnast, what are they?
A: Kind, passionate and funny
